Entry Criteria

 

The Green Book Awards celebrate excellence in publishing that prioritizes sustainability, ethical storytelling, and responsible production. Entries are open to publishers, authors, designers, and production teams whose work contributes to a more sustainable and socially impactful literary world.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Publication Date: Books must have been published between January 2024 – September 2025.
  • Sustainability Commitment: Entries must demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility, ethical storytelling, or progressive industry practices.
  • Original Work: Books must be original publications, not reprints, unless significantly revised to incorporate sustainable innovation.
  • Submission Format: Digital and print copies are accepted. Print copies should align with responsible production standards where possible.

 

Category-Specific Requirements:

  • The Visionary Publisher – Open to publishers who have revolutionized the industry through sustainable innovation across fiction, trade, academic, or children’s publishing.
  • The Design Innovator – Recognizing book designers who prioritize resourceful design and responsible materials.
  • The Emerging Voice – Celebrating debut authors whose work has made a significant environmental or social impact.
  • The Community Builder – Honouring individuals or organizations fostering collaboration, inclusion, and ethical growth in publishing.
  • The Sustainable Production & Logistics Award – Recognizing innovative printing, distribution, and supply chain practices that reduce the industry’s carbon footprint.
  • The Circular Economy Award – Celebrating initiatives that champion reuse, recycling, and circular design principles in publishing.

 

Submission Process:

  • Applications must be submitted via email to fiona@fortomorrow.biz by [insert deadline].
  • All entries must include:
    - A short statement (max 500 words) outlining how the book meets the award criteria.
    - A digital or physical copy of the book for judging if relevant.
    - Any relevant supporting materials showcasing the book’s sustainable production or impact.
